About Me
Hey! I’m Haley, a mechanical engineering and design student at Northeastern University.
I was born and raised in LA but if you were to ask me to name actors in a movie, I would absolutely fail. The one thing being a Los Angeles native did produce was an avid surfer and adventure sports enthusiast. I love backcountry skiing, scuba diving, and I am working on getting my skydiving license.
I love tinkering. Growing up, I would dismantle every toy and appliance in sight to understand how they work and then restore them to working order, most of the time (Mom, I’m still sorry about the microwave). Starting in 6th grade I was on a competitive robotics team which is probably where I picked up my eye for designing and building things. While doing robotics throughout high school, I met people from all over the world, even competing in the World Robotics Championship a few times. Everything from basketball-playing robots to cone stacking mechanisms, I’ve built it.
Most recently I interned at Apple, where I contributed to the mechanical design and prototyping of next-generation consumer products. I worked as a mechanical engineering co-op at SpaceX, where I supported the development of cutting-edge Starlink Products. Previously, I interned at Rivian, an electric vehicle company, where I owned production intent mechanisms and assemblies from conception to advanced prototyping for future vehicle projects. I have also worked as a mechanical design engineer at Generate Product Development, a student-run product development firm, where I completed multiple projects for diverse clients, such as a wearable device for deafblind individuals and a custom industrial date cutting machine. Through these experiences, I have developed a strong portfolio of products that demonstrate my creativity, technical proficiency, and problem-solving abilities.
